SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 29
(By Senators Facemyer, Craigo, Redd, Oliverio, Jackson, Snyder,
Unger, Fanning, Edgell, Hunter, Kessler, Minard, Anderson,
Sharpe, Ross, Mitchell, Love, Rowe, Caldwell, McKenzie, Burnette,
Boley, Minear, Deem, Bailey, McCabe, Plymale, Bowman, Sprouse,
Chafin and Tomblin, Mr. President)
Congratulating the Ravenswood High School cross country team on
winning the 2000 Class AA-A championship.

Whereas, The Ravenswood High School cross country team had an
exceptional 2000 season which earned it the opportunity to
participate in the 2000 Class AA-A championship competition; and

Whereas, During its outstanding season, the Ravenswood High
School cross country team achieved a number one ranking for the
first time in the school's history; and

Whereas, The Ravenswood High School cross country team won the
regional championship, the Autumn Classic, the Hurricane
Invitational, the Sissonville Invitational and the Little Kanawha
Conference Warmup and finished second in the Cabell Midland
Invitational; and

Whereas, This outstanding team, headed by Coach Bryan
Canterbury and Assistant Coach Bryan Schirmer, is to be commended
on its tremendous athletic ability and team sportsmanship; and

Whereas, The 2000 Class AA-A state champions are: Isaac
Andrick, Kelby Gray, Andy Wise, Nick Postlethwait, Chris Snell,
Adam Benford, Nathan Gray, Ryan Ruben and Marissa Poorman;
therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate congratulates the Ravenswood High School cross
country team on an exceptional 2000 season and on winning the 2000
Class AA-A championship; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the Ravenswood High School cross
country team and coaching staff.
